A quarterly report published by Lithuania’s Communications Regulatory Authority (RRT) has revealed that in September 2008 the number of mobile phone subscribers in the country totaled over 5.01 million, the equivalent to a wireless penetration rate of 148%. The report also revealed a 6.5% increase in internet subscribers to 671,976 between June and September 2008, but showed a downward trend in the number of landline subscribers, which fell by 0.39% to 787,752 during the same time period.
